Review the book.  What did you like and dislike?

  1. I think Among the Hidden was a very good book.I liked the plot of the story because it was very intriguing and I was glued to the book till the last page. The thing which I dislike about the book is that it was kind of complex and I didn't understand some of the words, such as "genocide". But other than that, it was fine.

  3. I enjoyed the vocabulary and the author kept us in suspense. It took a lot of willpower to keep my eyes off the book at all times. But at the end she kind of sent us mixed messages. Other than that I really loved the book.

  4. I really liked, no let me change that, I LOVED the beginning of Among the Hidden. It really pulled me into the book. This book is the best book I've read! The only thing I don't like about it is the end. I don't like it for two reasons. First, what the story says in the end goes totally against what Jen's character has been saying in the whole story. Second, the end of the story is scary and nerve-wrecking. It gave me a nightmare the night I finished the book and I still get shaked up when I hear or read about Jen.

  5. I think among the hidden is the best book. It has lots of new vocab and it is very interesting sentence. But I do not like the ending. I did predict something bad would happen but I did not expect it to be this bad. Luke's whole entire life changed after Jen died. It also made me very sad and when ever I hear about Luke I feel very sad for him.

  6. In my opinion, I think Among the Hidden is a very twisting novel. I especially like the plot in the middle of the story and the rich text and vocabulary. You can almost imagine that you are standing right in front of Jen and/or Luke. However, I dislike the agony-filled ending where Jen was shot and Luke got a fake I.D. and had to probably leave his family. I never thought that the ending would be this bad. Overall, the book is very descriptive and I loved it.

  12. I loved Among the Hidden. Haddix really describes the scenario on each page to make me feel like I was right there, watching Luke. It was sad that Jen and 40 other shadow children had been shot at the rally, but there were also fun, exciting, and funny parts that made me read more. The plot twists glued my eyes to the book and I loved the little parts when you could feel the character’s exact feeling. It was a mystery to think of what great things were on the next page. You could never really predict what Haddix would put next. She played great words that could make you shiver or smile. The openings and endings of each chapter were so eye catching, I read ahead anxious to read more. She is a great author who has great ideas. I hope I can get my hand on another one of her books. Overall, I LOVED Among the Hidden. (I accidentally keep using my dad's account.

  13. Among the Hidden is such amazing book. Every single page made me want to read more and not stop. Haddix obviously put a lot of effort into her writing. When Jen and all the other shadow children got shot, I was so sad. But I enjoyed it soooo much. It felt like I was in the story and I could feel exactly how the other characters were feeling. Every second, I was visualizing the story. Haddix wrote the book like every thing was actually coming to life. She also kept me in suspense. But overall, Among the Hidden was an AMAZING novel.

  14. Among the Hidden is a novel like no other! Its context makes me want to fold every page and read every word on it. The book made me experience many emotions as I turned every page. As I approached the end, I wondered how suspenseful it was. The author, Haddix really outdone herself with this AMAZING novel full of AWESOMNESS!
